Partnership with South African Oil & Gas Alliance for AOP 2017
Cape Town, October 10, 2016 – Africa Oil & Power has signed a partnership with the South African Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA) to collaborate on the upcoming Africa Oil & Power conference, to be hosted June 5-7, 2017 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. SAOGA will lend its considerable expertise on the South African and regional oil and gas markets and its CEO, Niall Kramer, will moderate the Southern Africa panel. The discussion will examine frontier oil and gas exploration in the region and historic energy trade and collaboration taking place between its countries. Serving the interests of the industry, SAOGA is working to capitalize on South Africa’s strategic position as an established midstream and downstream hub by strengthening ties with other African economies and supporting upstream activity.
Through the partnership, SAOGA members receive a 50 percent discount on delegate passes. Part of the remit of Africa Oil & Power is to empower indigenous organizations and companies and promote national content, technology, entrepreneurship and local partnerships.
Guillaume Doane, CEO of Africa Oil & Power, said: “We view this as a crucial strategic partnership in that South African Oil & Gas Alliance is an important institution in the industry and they share our commitment to realizing the full oil and gas potential of sub-Saharan Africa. We look forward to welcoming their members to strengthen ties between South Africa and the rest of the continent.”
Niall Kramer, CEO of SAOGA, said: “At SAOGA our interest is in growing skills, capacity, opportunities and growing the local oil and gas market. As Africa Oil & Power is also dedicated to supporting indigenous companies and promoting local skills and content, we are positive about this partnership.”
