Nigerian Gas Association

Formed in 1999, the Nigerian Gas Association is responsible for the promotion and protection of the interests of the gas industry in Nigeria. The association’s first members came from the primary gas production and utilization companies, and some of the earliest members included Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Chevron Nigeria Limited, Nigerian Gas Company (NGC), Elf Petroleum, Mobil Producing Nigeria, Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) and Conoco Energy Nigeria Limited. The Nigerian Gas Association has since grown and now encompasses the entire spectrum of stakeholders in the Nigerian gas industry – such as gas producers, transmitters, gas industry service providers, students, members of the academia and government officials.

The association has over 40 corporate members, 800 individual professional industry members and more than 100 student members. The Nigerian Gas Association is also a full chartered member of the International Gas Union (IGU), representing Nigeria on the international council.
