BP awards Pre-FEEDs to KBR on Grand Tortue Ahmeyim

Houston-based engineering company KBR on Tuesday announced that its United Kingdom operating subsidiary, KBR UK, has been awarded pre-front-end engineering and design (Pre-FEED) contracts for phases two and three of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, for which first productions are scheduled for 2022.

Located at the maritime border of Senegal and Mauritania, phase 1 of the GTA project is said to start imminently. Further developments in subsequent phases aim to significantly enhance gas production capacity from the ultra-deep-water subsea system, connected to mid-water gas processing platforms.

Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR, Energy Solutions Services stated: “We are proud to be part of this ground-breaking project, which will deliver LNG revenues and gas to Africa for decades to come. This win demonstrates KBR’s strategic commitment to our partner BP to deliver an innovative and cost effective deepwater gas value chain together.”
